Travelers With Diabetes

All cruise ships can accommodate travelers with diabetes as long as you are responsible for all medications and provide the cruise line with advance notice of any specific needs you may have.

Most cruise ships offer 24-hour room service, sugar-free desserts and containers for needle disposal when requested in advance, and most have a doctor onboard. Some cruise ships have mini-bars or mini-refrigerators as a standard amenity in the cabin, which can be used to store insulin or other medications that need to be kept cold. For other ships, you may be able to request a refrigerator in your stateroom with advance notice. If a refrigerator can not be provided, then the cruise line will either allow you to store your medication in the ship's infirmary or you can request the cabin steward to supply an ice bucket and refresh it frequently. Please confirm your needs with your Vacations To Go cruise counselor (800-998-6902) at the time of booking.
